Pep Band Info and Trip Rehearsal

Great show today from "The Pride of Shaker Heights!"  Just one more home game left.  This weekend is our college visitation weekend.  We will be taking a pep band to Brush on Friday night.  Sign-up sheets are posted outside the band room.  Freshmen and Sophomores are required to sign-up, and upperclassmen not going on a college visit are welcome if there is room.

Monday is a trip rehearsal for those planning on going to Turkey.  Meet on the main field at 8:05 with instrument and flip folder, even if you are fully checked off.  Those not travelling will meet in sectionals, check for signs in the morning.

Game #10 Calendar Change and Cleveland Orchestra Concert

Our final game at Byers Field in Parma and been changed from Friday, October 26 to Thursday, October 25 at 7 PM.  The following day is High School conferences.

We are also excited to announce that the Cleveland Orchestra is coming to perform for all music students and selected classes during 4th and 5th periods on Thursday, October 11. They will be performing Petrushka by Igor Stravinsky. We suggest that all band students take some time and read up on this outstanding work prior to this performance.

For the Orchestra assembly, the balcony will be reserved for band members only. All juniors and seniors, plus Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band underclassmen, will have seats there. Ninth and tenth grade concert band members will have seats downstairs. Students should report to the large auditorium before fourth period. Any students who have lunch 4th period should pack a lunch and eat in the band room during 6th period.

Wind Ensemble Rehearsal and Fundraiser Kick-off on 10/1

There is a Wind Ensemble rehearsal for those students who met the memorization expectations on Monday morning at 8:05 in the Band Room.  Be sure to have concert instruments with you.

All band students will receive information regarding this year's fundraiser on Monday morning as well.  This year we will be selling Malley's chocolate, Indian River Groves fruit, and the newly added Phoenix Coffee.  All profits from student sales will go to individual accounts and help defray the cost of this year's or future trips.  Information is also available on the Shaker Bands website on the Fundraiser page.
