High School Winter Concerts

The High School concert bands will perform their Winter Concerts on December 14 and 15. Concert Ensemble (Mr. Clemens), Concert Band (Mr. Pocaro), and Symphonic Band (Mr. Hughes) will perform on Monday, December 14. Concert Winds (Mr. Kulikowski) and Wind Ensemble (Mr. Deep) will perform on Tuesday, December 15. Both concerts will be held in the High School Auditorium and will begin at 7:30. There has been some discrepancy on start time, but 7:30 is accurate. Hope to see you there!

Game 8 Vs. Euclid

This week the Shaker Band takes part in Friday Night football at Euclid. Call time is 5:15 in full uniform, and be sure to dress warm and bring your raincoat!

Game 7 vs. Mentor

The Homecoming game is on Saturday vs. Mentor! Call time for the game will be noon, and the Homecoming parade should begin at 1:15. Any students who wish to be excused from the parade to participate with another group or from the second half of the game to prepare for Homecoming need to turn in notes immediately. Dress will be full uniform without hats, and don't forget that it is Alumni/Community Day. Students who sponsor an alumni or community member will receive honors credit points.

Game #5 vs. US

This weekend is college vistiation weekend for upperclassmen, so we will be taking a pep band to University School on Saturday. Call time for those who signed up is 12:20, and the game begins at 1. Dress for the game is Band Polo and jeans or shorts, and feel free to bring a jacket.

This week's tip sheet for Saturday's game against St. Joe's is available here. Don't forget, this is mass band week so the 8th grade band students will be joining the Raider Marching Band for the halftime show.

Please use the online registration in place of the printable registration forms. Log-in and password information for the online registration is available in the parent information or from the band office.

Parent Meeting Scheduled

A parent meeting for the Shaker Crosses The Alps Tour has been scheduled for Monday, August 31, 2009 at 7 PM in the High School Auditorium.

Don't forget, band camp starts at 8:30 on Monday morning at the Middle School. Please see the Marching Band Page for more information.

The Marching Band packet, including the medical form, fee list, and the honors credit form, is available on the Marching Band Page. If you need extra copies, please feel free to print them out and turn them in. Remember, Raiderette and Percussion Camp begins next week!!

International Tour 2010 Announcement

Evening of Saxes

Come hear the Saxophone-Choir Concert this Wednesday March 25th. The concert begins at 7:30 and will be held in the Shaker High School Large Auditorium. This section, like all others of the Shaker Bands is brimming with talent. It will surely be a great event filled with smooth sounds and sweet solos.

Site Updates and H.S. Concert Reminder

Visit the "Pictures" page for some great shots of this fall's football season and highlights of last year's concert season. A huge thank you goes out to those of you who emailed your photos for us to share. The interactive calendar on the "Calendar" page has been posted, but is only temporary as we search for a better program. The "Private Instructors" page has also been updated with our recommended instructors' contact information.

Remember that the "Contest Concert" for all high school bands will be held this Tuesday, February 24, at 7:00 PM in the Shaker High School Auditorium. Each group has a different call time, so please check with your student for more details.
